Job Overview

MEWA is seeking a dynamic Coastal Zone Management Analyst to lead initiatives in protecting and restoring Mauritius’ coastal ecosystems. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct ecological assessments of coastal zones to identify conservation priorities.
• Develop and implement management plans for sustainable coastal development.
• Collaborate with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies on marine protection projects.
• Monitor water quality and biodiversity indicators using GIS and remote sensing tools.
• Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations for stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in coastal zone management or marine environmental analysis.
• Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and international sustainability frameworks.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Geography, or related field.

Salary

35,000 – 45,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
