Job Overview
Lead the development and implementation of sustainable hospitality strategies at our flagship resort in Chamarel. This role bridges operational excellence with environmental responsibility, ensuring alignment with global sustainability standards while enhancing guest satisfaction. The position reports directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in eco-tourism.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute sustainability programs for hotel operations, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water conservation.
- Develop partnerships with local conservation organizations to create community-based tourism experiences.
- Train staff on sustainable practices and ensure compliance with international eco-certification standards (e.g., LEED, Green Key).
- Monitor and report on key sustainability metrics to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Curate guest engagement initiatives such as guided nature tours, cultural workshops, and carbon-neutral travel options.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in hospitality management with a focus on sustainability.
- Strong understanding of environmental policies and eco-tourism frameworks.
- Excellent leadership and cross-departmental collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools for tracking sustainability performance.
- Fluency in French or Creole is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Advanced certification in Sustainable Hospitality (e.g., Global Sustainable Tourism Council) preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years in hospitality operations with demonstrable sustainability achievements.
- Experience managing teams in a high-service environment.
Salary
35,000 – 45,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience.
