Job Overview

Lead multidisciplinary initiatives to restore and protect Mauritius’ vulnerable coastal ecosystems through strategic planning, community collaboration, and scientific research. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute coastal restoration projects including mangrove rehabilitation and shoreline stabilization
  • Coordinate with local communities, government agencies, and international partners
  • Conduct ecological assessments and monitor biodiversity metrics
  • Secure funding through grant proposals and donor partnerships
  • Develop educational programs for coastal conservation awareness

Required Skills

  • Expertise in coastal ecosystem dynamics and climate adaptation strategies
  • Proven project management experience with environmental NGOs
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and ecological data analysis
  • Bilingual communication (English and French preferred)

Education

Salary

180,000 – 250,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience and project impact.
