Job Overview
The Risk Management Analyst will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks across Barclays Bank Mauritius. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the analyst will work closely with business units, compliance teams, and senior leadership to develop robust risk frameworks, conduct quantitative analyses, and produce actionable insights that drive strategic decision‑making. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for new and existing banking products, including credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk.
- Develop and maintain risk models, stress‑testing frameworks, and scenario analyses aligned with Basel III and local regulatory standards.
- Prepare detailed risk reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting key risk indicators and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the Credit Department to evaluate loan portfolios, monitor credit quality, and recommend risk‑adjusted pricing.
- Support the implementation of the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policies and ensure adherence to the Risk Appetite Statement.
- Monitor regulatory changes in Mauritius and internationally, translating requirements into actionable policies.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes, providing documentation and evidence of risk controls.
- Participate in cross‑functional risk committees, contributing expertise to business strategy discussions.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and advanced Excel.
- In‑depth knowledge of banking regulations, Basel III, and local financial supervisory guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex risk concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required. Candidates holding a Master’s degree or professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or PRM (Professional Risk Manager) will be given preference.
Experience
Applicants must have at least five years of hands‑on experience in risk analysis, risk modelling, or related functions within a reputable banking or financial services institution. Prior exposure to credit risk assessment, market risk analytics, or operational risk management is essential.
Salary
