We are currently seeking a dedicated Hydropower Plant Operations Technician to join our specialized maintenance team. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control turbine, generator, and governor systems to ensure optimal power output.
- Perform routine inspections of mechanical equipment, including valves, gates, and bearings.
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on high-voltage electrical switchgear.
- Record and analyze operational data to identify potential equipment failures before they occur.
- Respond to emergency alarms and system irregularities to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement system upgrades and efficiency improvements.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in reading technical blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills regarding hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Strict adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting technical status to management.
Education
A recognized Diploma or Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering is mandatory. Specialized certification in hydroelectric systems is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial plant operations, specifically within a power generation or heavy manufacturing environment. Experience with high-voltage equipment is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on technical certifications and prior experience. This is a competitive package within the renewable energy sector.
