Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist to join our growing advisory team in Grand Baie. This role is critical for our clients who require detailed scientific analysis before commencing large-scale infrastructure, tourism, or industrial projects. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of comprehensive EIA reports, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met while advocating for best practices in biodiversity conservation and resource management. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies for diverse industrial and commercial sectors.
- Coordinate with field biologists, hydrologists, and sociologists to compile integrated technical reports.
- Liaise with government regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with national environmental laws and international standards.
- Conduct site visits and field surveys to assess potential ecological disruptions.
- Provide strategic advice to clients on mitigation strategies and environmental management plans (EMPs).
- Review and audit existing environmental management systems for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in environmental modeling and GIS software.
- In-depth knowledge of Mauritian environmental legislation and international ESG frameworks.
- Exceptional technical writing and scientific reporting capabilities.

Education
A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline is mandatory. Professional certification in Environmental Management is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of direct experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments. Proven experience in managing large-scale consultancy projects and navigating regulatory approval processes is essential. Previous experience working in a tropical or coastal environment is a significant advantage.
Salary
The offered salary range for this position is 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and technical expertise.
