Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer to join our specialized subsurface team in Rose Hill. This critical role involves the advanced modeling, simulation, and optimization of reservoir performance to maximize recovery and ensure the long-term viability of our energy assets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strategic decision-making, providing technical leadership in complex reservoir characterization and production forecasting. This position requires a deep understanding of fluid dynamics, rock mechanics, and advanced numerical simulation techniques. As we transition toward more sustainable energy models, this role will also contribute to evaluating the potential for carbon capture and storage (CCS) within existing geological formations, making it a cornerstone of our future-focused strategy in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex 3D reservoir models using industry-standard simulation software.
- Perform detailed uncertainty analysis and risk assessment for upcoming drilling campaigns.
- Optimize well placement and production strategies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery factors.
- Collaborate with geologists and drilling engineers to integrate seismic and well data.
- Monitor real-time production data to validate reservoir models and adjust operational parameters.
- Lead technical reviews and provide mentorship to junior reservoir engineers within the team.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in reservoir simulation software such as Eclipse or Petrel.
- Expertise in material balance calculations and decline curve analysis.
- Strong mathematical modeling and statistical analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of fluid thermodynamics and porous media flow.
Education
A Master’s degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is mandatory for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of direct experience in reservoir engineering within the upstream oil and gas sector. Proven track record in managing large-scale simulation projects and delivering actionable insights for field development plans is essential. Experience in offshore environments is highly preferred.
Salary
The annual compensation package for this role is highly competitive, ranging from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000, depending on technical expertise and professional certifications.
