Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior E-commerce UX Designer to lead the user experience strategy for our high-traffic digital storefronts. This role is critical in ensuring that every customer interaction is seamless, intuitive, and conversion-oriented. You will work at the intersection of design, psychology, and technology to create interfaces that drive engagement and loyalty. This is a pivotal role within our design department, requiring a deep understanding of user behavior in a digital retail context. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end user experience design process for complex e-commerce platforms.
- Conduct extensive user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
- Create high-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed design specifications.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and front-end developers to ensure design fidelity.
- Analyze user journey data to identify friction points and optimize conversion rates.
- Mentor junior designers and establish best practices for the design team.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
- Deep understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first methodologies.
- Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into intuitive user interfaces.
- Advanced knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure inclusive design.
- Excellent communication skills to present design concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in UX Design or Digital Media is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, specifically within the e-commerce or digital retail sector. A proven portfolio demonstrating successful user-centered design projects is essential for this job vacancy in Mauritius.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise.
