Job Overview

The Senior Logistics Optimization Manager will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of end‑to‑end logistics processes across the Southern Mauritius region. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance network efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute logistics network optimization strategies to improve transit times and reduce operational expenses.
  • Lead cross‑functional projects focused on warehouse layout redesign, transportation mode selection, and inventory management.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, cost per kilogram, and carbon footprint.
  • Collaborate with IT and digital teams to integrate automation technologies, including warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, customs procedures, and DHL’s global quality standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior logistics analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting opportunities for cost savings and service enhancements.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and Excel.
  • In‑depth knowledge of supply chain best practices, freight forwarding, and multimodal transportation.
  • Excellent project management abilities, including Agile or Lean methodologies.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior executives.
  • Proficiency in logistics software such as SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management, or similar platforms.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or PMP are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least eight years of progressive experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain optimization, with a proven track record of leading large‑scale improvement initiatives. Experience within a multinational logistics organization and exposure to the African market will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 900,000 to SSP 1,200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
