Job Overview
The E‑commerce Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end fulfillment process for Shoprite’s online store, ensuring timely order processing, inventory accuracy, and superior customer service. Reporting to the Head of Retail Operations, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams including IT, marketing, logistics, and store management to optimize the e‑commerce supply chain. This position plays a pivotal role in scaling the online business, implementing data‑driven strategies, and maintaining high standards of operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily order processing, picking, packing, and dispatch activities to meet service level agreements.
- Coordinate with inventory management to ensure stock availability and reduce out‑of‑stock situations.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, delivery time, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers and negotiate service contracts.
- Collaborate with IT to enhance the e‑commerce platform, integrate warehouse management systems, and automate workflows.
- Develop and execute seasonal promotional plans, ensuring operational readiness for peak periods.
- Prepare regular performance reports for senior leadership, highlighting trends and actionable insights.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Excellent leadership and team‑building skills, capable of motivating cross‑functional teams.
- In‑depth knowledge of e‑commerce fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management across diverse departments.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with retail ERP and WMS solutions.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of 5‑7 years of progressive experience in e‑commerce operations, retail logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within a large retail environment. Demonstrated success in managing high‑volume order fulfillment and leading process improvement projects is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
