Job Overview
The Sustainable Event Management Coordinator will lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of corporate and private events at Mövenpick Grand Baie Resort, ensuring all activities adhere to the company’s sustainability standards. This role bridges hospitality excellence with environmental responsibility, creating memorable experiences while promoting eco-conscious practices. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate events (weddings, conferences, corporate functions) with a focus on reducing environmental impact.
- Source local, organic, and ethically sourced materials for event décor, catering, and supplies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into event logistics (e.g., waste reduction, energy efficiency).
- Develop and maintain partnerships with eco-certified vendors and local community organizations.
- Monitor and report on event sustainability metrics, including carbon footprint and resource usage.
- Provide training to event staff on sustainable event management protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in event management, with a demonstrated track record in sustainability initiatives.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for vendor and client interactions.
- Creative problem-solving to address sustainability challenges in event planning.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field.

- 3–5 years in event management, with at least 2 years focused on sustainability practices.
- Experience in luxury hospitality or high-end event coordination.
Salary
35,000 – 45,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
