Job Overview

As a Precision Agriculture Systems Engineer, you will design and implement advanced agricultural technologies to optimize crop yields, reduce environmental impact, and improve resource efficiency. This role combines engineering expertise with data science to create scalable solutions for Mauritius’ evolving agricultural sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy precision agriculture systems using IoT sensors, drones, and satellite imagery
  • Analyze agricultural data to optimize irrigation, fertilization, and pest control strategies
  • Collaborate with farmers and agronomists to tailor technology solutions to local crop needs
  • Conduct field trials to evaluate the performance of new agricultural technologies
  • Develop training programs for farmers on the use of precision agriculture tools
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and remote sensing technologies
  • Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Python, R, SQL)

Education

Experience

3-5 years of experience in agricultural technology development, with a focus on precision farming systems. Prior project management experience in agri-tech initiatives is preferred.

Salary

An annual salary between 350,000 and 450,000 Seychelles Seychellois Rupees (SSP), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
