Job Overview

The Lead Data Center Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of AWS’s Mauritius data center facility. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of all infrastructure components. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and technicians to manage daily data center operations, including power, cooling, and network systems.
• Monitor and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for uptime, latency, and capacity utilization.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and emergency response procedures.
• Coordinate with security, compliance, and safety teams to ensure adherence to industry standards and local regulations.
• Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for incidents, minimizing impact on customers.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance metrics for third‑party services.
• Oversee capacity planning, forecasting, and scaling initiatives to support business growth.
• Prepare and present operational reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Deep knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and networking.
• Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) and automation platforms (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities, with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions under pressure.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and local data protection laws.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, ITIL, or Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in data center operations, with at least three years in a managerial or lead role. Experience in large‑scale cloud environments or hyperscale facilities is a strong advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and equity incentives aligned with AWS’s global compensation philosophy.
