Job Overview

The Satellite Communications Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, integrating, and maintaining satellite communication solutions for both government and commercial clients in the region. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop satellite communication architectures, including RF, baseband, and network layers.
• Perform link budget analysis, frequency planning, and interference mitigation for Ka‑band and Ku‑band systems.
• Lead integration and testing activities for satellite terminals, ground stations, and network management software.
• Collaborate with vendors and satellite operators to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
• Develop technical documentation, specifications, and compliance reports in line with ITU and local regulatory requirements.
• Provide on‑site support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of satellite links.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing sessions within the engineering department.
• Stay abreast of emerging satellite technologies, such as low‑earth‑orbit (LEO) constellations, and propose innovative solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in satellite communication principles, RF engineering, and modulation techniques.
• Proficiency with simulation tools such as STK, MATLAB, and RF planning software.
• Hands‑on experience with satellite terminals, VSAT equipment, and ground station infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of network protocols, IP routing, and cybersecurity considerations for satellite networks.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure in complex project environments.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Project management experience, including schedule tracking and risk mitigation.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Satellite Communications Professional) are considered an advantage.

Experience

At least five years of professional experience in satellite communications engineering, preferably within a multinational technology or aerospace organization. Experience with satellite broadband deployments in emerging markets is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
