Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute complex metallurgical experiments to optimize the recovery of precious and base metals.
- Conduct detailed chemical characterization of ore samples using advanced spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.
- Develop and refine chemical reagent formulations to improve extraction efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Analyze large datasets from pilot plant operations to identify trends and suggest process improvements.
- Lead the troubleshooting of chemical imbalances within the industrial leaching and flotation circuits.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and present findings to the senior management and engineering teams.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with international safety and environmental regulations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in chemical analysis and metallurgical process modeling.
- Expert knowledge of hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy principles.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent technical writing skills for documentation and research publication.
- Ability to manage complex laboratory projects from conception to completion.
- Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools.
Education
A Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a closely related field is mandatory. Candidates with exceptional industry experience and a strong academic background in inorganic chemistry will also be considered.
Experience
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in a metallurgical laboratory or a mineral processing plant is required. Proven experience in leading research projects or managing laboratory teams is highly desirable.
