Job Overview

The Senior Network Optimization Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of network performance across Huawei’s portfolio of mobile and fixed‑line solutions in the region. Reporting to the Head of Network Engineering, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure optimal traffic flow, high availability, and superior quality of service for both enterprise and consumer customers. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze network traffic patterns and identify bottlenecks to enhance throughput and latency.
• Develop and implement optimization algorithms for 4G/5G radio access networks (RAN) and core network elements.
• Lead performance testing, capacity planning, and root‑cause analysis for network incidents.
• Collaborate with product managers, RF engineers, and field technicians to deploy optimization solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
• Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging telecom standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements in Mauritius.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in LTE/5G network architecture, protocols, and performance metrics.
• Proficiency with network simulation tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet, MATLAB) and data analytics platforms.
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑cultural and multi‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Project management experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Cisco CCNP, Nokia NRS, or Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP) are highly desirable.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least eight years of hands‑on experience in network optimization, performance engineering, or a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
