Job Overview
The Senior Omnichannel Retail Strategy Manager will spearhead the design and execution of Jumia’s omnichannel roadmap in Mauritius, aligning digital initiatives with physical retail touchpoints. Reporting to the Head of Regional Strategy, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance customer journeys, optimize inventory across channels, and increase market share. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive omnichannel strategy that integrates Jumia’s online marketplace with partner brick‑and‑mortar stores.
- Lead cross‑functional projects involving merchandising, logistics, IT, and marketing to ensure synchronized product availability and pricing.
- Analyze consumer data, market trends, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and improve the customer lifecycle.
- Define KPI frameworks for omnichannel performance, monitor results, and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with technology partners to deploy click‑and‑collect, curbside pickup, and in‑store return solutions.
- Drive partnership negotiations with local retailers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements and seamless integration.
- Oversee pilot programs, conduct A/B testing, and scale successful initiatives across the island.
- Mentor junior analysts and foster a culture of data‑driven decision making.
Required Skills
- Strategic thinking with a proven track record of launching omnichannel retail models.
- Strong analytical abilities; proficiency in SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of e‑commerce platforms, supply chain logistics, and retail operations.
- Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective communication in English and French; knowledge of Creole is a plus.
Education
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as Certified Retail Analyst (CRA) or Digital Marketing certifications are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in retail strategy, preferably within an e‑commerce or omnichannel environment. Experience in the African market, particularly Mauritius, will be highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 900,000 to SSP 1,200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and expertise. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and equity participation opportunities.
