Job Overview

The Senior Procurement Manager will lead the end‑to‑end procurement function for Caterpillar Mauritius, overseeing strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract administration for all categories of goods and services. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category‑specific sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, quality improvements, and supply continuity.
• Lead negotiations for high‑value contracts, ensuring favorable terms, risk mitigation, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage a team of procurement specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development plans.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to forecast demand, plan inventory, and streamline the purchase‑to‑pay cycle.
• Maintain a robust supplier performance management system, conducting regular audits, scorecard reviews, and corrective action plans.
• Monitor market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and geopolitical factors that could impact supply chain stability.
• Ensure adherence to Caterpillar’s ethical sourcing standards, sustainability goals, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
• Prepare and present procurement dashboards, KPI reports, and cost‑benefit analyses to senior leadership.

• Advanced negotiation and contract management expertise.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Procurement Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive procurement experience, with at least three (3) years in a senior or managerial role within the manufacturing, heavy equipment, or industrial sector. Experience in a multinational environment and exposure to global sourcing strategies are essential.

Salary
