Job Overview

The Senior Robotics Automation Engineer will lead the design, integration, and optimization of advanced robotic systems for Siemens’ manufacturing clients in Mauritius and the Indian Ocean region. Reporting to the Automation Solutions Director, you will work cross‑functionally with software developers, mechanical designers, project managers, and client stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end automation solutions that improve throughput, quality, and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed documentation, including system architecture, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in robot programming languages (e.g., RAPID, KRL, URScript) and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA).
• Strong background in mechanical design, CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation software (RoboDK, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Experience with PLCs, HMI development, and integration of vision systems.
• Solid understanding of safety standards such as ISO 10218, IEC 61508, and local Mauritian regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, analytical mindset, and capacity to work under tight project timelines.
• Effective communication skills in English; French is an advantage for client interactions.
• Proven track record of delivering complex automation projects from concept to commissioning.

Education

A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field is required. Professional certifications such as Siemens Certified Automation Engineer, FANUC Robotics Certification, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of hands‑on experience in robotics and automation engineering, preferably within the manufacturing sector. Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale projects, leading multidisciplinary teams, and interfacing directly with clients is essential.
