Job Overview
The Senior Waste Management Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of waste collection, treatment, and recycling processes for both municipal and industrial clients. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of waste collection routes, ensuring efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Design and oversee the operation of recycling facilities, including material sorting, processing, and quality control.
- Develop and implement waste reduction strategies for corporate and municipal clients, targeting a minimum 15% reduction in landfill disposal within the first two years.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new waste‑to‑energy projects, including technical, economic, and environmental assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Mauritian environmental legislation, ISO 14001 standards, and Veolia’s internal sustainability policies.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications to support decision‑making.
- Collaborate with research institutions and NGOs to pilot innovative recycling technologies.
