Job Overview
GreenTech Innovations Ltd is seeking a passionate and results-driven Sustainable Urban Planning Analyst to join its Mauritius team. This role will focus on designing and implementing urban sustainability strategies that align with global environmental standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate with municipal authorities, architects, and environmental scientists to develop solutions that reduce carbon footprints while enhancing urban livability. This position is part of a dynamic project supported by international funding and local government partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct urban sustainability assessments and feasibility studies for new development projects
- Design climate-resilient infrastructure plans incorporating green building technologies
- Collaborate with municipal stakeholders to align planning with national environmental policies
- Monitor and evaluate the environmental impact of urban development initiatives
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for project stakeholders
- Lead workshops with local communities to gather input on urban planning priorities
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and urban design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS)
- Strong analytical skills for environmental impact assessments
- Experience with sustainable building certification systems (LEED, BREEAM)
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
- Knowledge of Mauritian urban planning regulations
- Fluency in English and French preferred
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or related field. Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development is a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in urban planning or environmental consulting, with at least 1 year in sustainable development projects.
Salary
350,000 SSP – 450,000 SSP per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
