Job Overview
The Blockchain Solutions Lead will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of blockchain‑based applications that support HSBC Mauritius’ digital banking strategy. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end blockchain solution development, from requirements gathering to production rollout.
- Architect and implement smart contracts, consensus mechanisms, and tokenization models tailored to banking use cases.
- Collaborate with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure all blockchain initiatives meet local and international standards.
- Mentor and guide a multidisciplinary team of developers, analysts, and architects.
- Evaluate emerging blockchain platforms and recommend optimal technologies for HSBC Mauritius.
- Drive integration of blockchain solutions with existing core banking systems and APIs.
- Monitor performance, security, and scalability of deployed solutions, implementing continuous improvement processes.
- Prepare technical documentation, whitepapers, and stakeholder presentations.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in blockchain frameworks such as Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, or Corda.
- Proficiency in smart contract languages (Solidity, Go, Java).
- Strong understanding of cryptography, consensus algorithms, and distributed ledger technology.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of financial services regulations, especially AML/KYC and data privacy in Mauritius.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Leadership experience managing technical teams in fast‑paced environments.
Education
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Blockchain Professional (CBP) or relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable.

Minimum of eight years of experience in software development, with at least three years focused on blockchain technology implementation in the financial sector. Proven track record of delivering large‑scale, production‑grade blockchain projects is essential.
