Job Overview
The Hydrogen Infrastructure Development Manager will lead the planning, design, and execution of large‑scale hydrogen projects, from concept through commissioning. Reporting to the Regional Director of Renewable Energy, the role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards. The manager will work closely with Vestas’ global hydrogen experts, local authorities, and private sector partners to deliver projects that meet performance, safety, and sustainability criteria. This role is central to Vestas’ mission of accelerating the adoption of hydrogen as a clean energy carrier in Mauritius and the broader Indian Ocean region.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement end‑to‑end project plans for hydrogen production, storage, and distribution facilities.
- Lead feasibility studies, techno‑economic analyses, and risk assessments to ensure project viability.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Manage relationships with government agencies, utility companies, and strategic partners to secure permits, grid connections, and financing.
- Oversee contract negotiations, vendor selection, and procurement processes for critical equipment such as electrolyzers, compressors, and storage tanks.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project performance metrics, prepare progress reports, and present updates to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and incorporate best practices from global hydrogen projects.
Required Skills
- Strong project management expertise with a proven track record in large‑scale energy infrastructure.
- In‑depth knowledge of hydrogen production technologies, storage solutions, and safety regulations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and data analysis tools.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Renewable Energy are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex energy projects, preferably in hydrogen, renewable power, or related sectors. Experience working in Mauritius or the broader African region is a plus.
Salary
The competitive remuneration package ranges from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits suite.
