Job Overview
The Senior Construction Project Engineer will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale construction projects in Bel Ombre and surrounding regions. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, ensure compliance with local regulations, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end management of construction projects valued up to SSP 500 million.
- Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with design teams to ensure constructability and compliance with local building codes.
- Monitor site progress, conduct regular inspections, and enforce safety protocols.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Ensure all documentation, including permits and quality records, is maintained accurately.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and civil engineering principles.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Solid understanding of Mauritian construction regulations and environmental standards.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
- Fluency in English and French; knowledge of Creole is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in project delivery.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in construction project engineering, preferably within large‑scale infrastructure or commercial developments. Demonstrated success in managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects on schedule and within budget is essential.
Salary
