Job Overview
This role focuses on developing and implementing sustainable building material solutions for residential and commercial projects in Mauritius. Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop eco-friendly construction materials using recycled or renewable resources
- Conduct material performance tests to ensure compliance with international green building standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable materials into project designs
- Provide technical support for the implementation of energy-efficient construction techniques
- Monitor environmental impact metrics and propose improvements for material sourcing processes
Required Skills
- Expertise in sustainable material science and green building certification systems (LEED, BREEAM)
- Proficiency in CAD software for material design and simulation
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating material lifecycle assessments
- Excellent project management abilities for multi-disciplinary teams
- Fluency in French or English preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or Materials Engineering. Advanced certification in sustainable construction practices is an asset.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in construction materials development, with a focus on environmental sustainability. Experience in tropical climate construction solutions is advantageous.
Salary
30,000 – 45,000 SSP/month, depending on experience and qualifications.
