Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of seasonal planting schedules and landscape maintenance programs.
- Oversee the conservation and propagation of endangered endemic plant species within specialized nursery environments.
- Conduct detailed soil analysis and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to ensure plant health.
- Supervise a team of junior horticulturists and garden technicians to maintain high aesthetic and scientific standards.
- Collaborate with international botanical institutions to participate in global seed banking and exchange programs.
- Manage the implementation of sustainable irrigation and water conservation systems across the gardens.
Required Skills
- Advanced expertise in plant pathology, soil science, and tropical horticulture.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale botanical projects and diverse horticultural teams.
- Strong scientific research capabilities and experience in data collection for botanical studies.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage complex seasonal schedules.
- Proficiency in horticultural software and digital inventory management systems.
Education
A Master’s Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a closely related biological science is mandatory. A PhD in Plant Biology or Conservation Science is highly preferred for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of seven years of professional experience in high-level horticultural management or botanical research, preferably within a public garden, botanical institute, or large-scale research facility.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from SSP 45,000 to SSP 65,000, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and research background.
