Job Overview
The Senior Logistics Operations Manager will lead the operational excellence of DP World’s terminal and inland logistics activities in Vacoas. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute operational strategies to improve throughput, reduce dwell time, and increase terminal productivity.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, coordinators, and frontline staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, equipment utilization, and cost per TEU, and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, and inland transport providers to ensure seamless cargo movement.
- Oversee the implementation of digital solutions, including terminal operating systems (TOS) and data analytics platforms, to enhance visibility and decision‑making.
- Manage budgetary responsibilities, including cost control, capital expenditure planning, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including ISPS, environmental standards, and occupational health and safety policies.
- Drive sustainability initiatives, such as carbon‑footprint reduction, waste management, and energy‑efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a proven track record of leading large, diverse teams.
- Expertise in terminal operations, freight forwarding, and multimodal logistics.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data‑driven decision making and performance monitoring.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interfacing with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of safety, security, and environmental compliance in a port environment.
- Proficiency with logistics software, TOS platforms, and ERP systems.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to develop long‑term operational plans aligned with corporate goals.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Port Executive (CPE) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess at least eight years of progressive experience in logistics or terminal operations, with a minimum of three years in a senior managerial role. Experience in a multinational environment, exposure to digital transformation projects, and a solid background in managing large‑scale budgets are essential.
Salary
