Job Overview
The Telecom Customer Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering end‑to‑end telecom solutions that address the evolving needs of Airtel’s enterprise and consumer segments. Reporting to the Head of Architecture, the incumbent will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product management, network engineering, and sales—to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and future‑proof architectures. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end design of telecom solutions, including network topology, service orchestration, and integration with legacy systems.
- Collaborate with product managers to define solution roadmaps that align with market trends and customer demands.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and risk assessments for proposed architectures.
- Develop detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation guides.
- Present solution proposals to senior stakeholders, customers, and partners, articulating value propositions and ROI.
- Provide technical leadership during proof‑of‑concept (PoC) and pilot deployments.
- Ensure solutions comply with regulatory standards, security policies, and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering knowledge sharing across teams.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies such as 5G, edge computing, AI‑driven network optimization, and IoT platforms.
- Support sales teams with technical pre‑sales activities, including RFP responses and solution workshops.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in telecom network technologies (LTE, 5G, MPLS, SD‑WAN, VoIP).
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization (NFV, SDN).
- Proficiency in solution architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Project management experience, preferably with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural, cross‑functional environments.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as TOGAF, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Certified Solutions Architect (AWS) are highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates must have at least five years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing telecom solutions for large‑scale operators or service providers. Prior exposure to the Mauritian market or similar emerging economies will be considered an advantage.
Salary
