Job Overview
The Construction Project Controls Manager will lead the planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and performance monitoring of multimillion‑dollar construction projects across Mauritius. Reporting to the Head of Project Management Office, the role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The manager will integrate advanced project control tools, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide strategic insights to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for each project phase.
- Monitor project performance against baseline schedules and budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Produce regular progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and site teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and cost.
- Implement risk management processes, including risk registers and mitigation plans.
- Lead the integration of BIM and digital twin technologies for enhanced project visibility.
- Mentor junior project control analysts and promote best practices across the PMO.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in cost control and earned value management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and local regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Leadership experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
- Fluency in English and French; knowledge of Creole is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or AACE Certified Cost Professional are highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of experience in construction project controls, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity on large infrastructure projects.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 800,000 to 1,200,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and profit‑sharing opportunities are also available.
