Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Procurement Specialist to join our manufacturing division in Port Louis. This role is critical to our supply chain efficiency, ensuring that we source the highest quality raw materials and packaging components at the most competitive prices. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will navigate the complexities of international and local sourcing, ensuring compliance with both local regulations and global Nestlé standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to optimize the procurement of raw materials and packaging.
- Negotiate complex, long-term contracts with local and international suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply security.
- Monitor market trends and commodity price fluctuations to proactively manage procurement risks.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure all sourced materials meet strict food safety standards.
- Manage vendor performance through regular audits and KPI evaluations.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives across the procurement lifecycle.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with local Mauritian laws and global corporate governance policies.
Required Skills
- Advanced negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret market data and financial reports.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and procurement best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or manufacturing sector. Proven experience in managing large-scale supplier relationships and complex negotiations is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on experience and qualifications. This package is competitive within the Mauritian manufacturing sector.
