Job Overview

The Senior Content Strategist will lead the development and execution of comprehensive content strategies that drive audience growth, enhance brand visibility, and support MBC’s digital expansion goals. Reporting to the Head of Content, you will work closely with editorial, production, marketing and technology teams to create compelling, data‑driven narratives across television, radio, web and mobile platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement multi‑platform content strategies that increase viewership, listenership and digital engagement.
  • Conduct audience research, competitive analysis and performance analytics to inform content decisions.
  • Collaborate with producers, journalists, designers and developers to create cohesive storytelling experiences.
  • Define content calendars, editorial guidelines and KPI frameworks for all channels.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate innovative content ideas.
  • Monitor content performance metrics and optimize strategies based on data insights.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, copyright laws and brand guidelines.
  • Mentor junior content creators and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Required Skills

  • Strong strategic thinking with a proven track record of successful content campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Proficiency in content management systems, analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and SEO best practices.
  • Deep understanding of media consumption trends in Mauritius and the broader Indian Ocean region.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications in Digital Marketing, Content Strategy or Data Analytics are considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 5‑7 years of experience in content strategy, editorial planning or digital media, preferably within a broadcasting or media organization. Demonstrated experience in leading multi‑disciplinary teams and delivering measurable results is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,200,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based bonuses.
