Job Overview
This role focuses on developing next-generation sustainable products for the Mauritian and regional markets. Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop eco-friendly product formulations using biodegradable or recycled materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design packaging solutions that minimize carbon footprint.
- Conduct lifecycle assessments to identify sustainability improvements across production processes.
- Partner with suppliers to source ethically produced raw materials.
- Present proposals to senior management for approval and implementation.
Required Skills
- Expertise in sustainable product development methodologies.
- Proficiency in environmental impact analysis tools (e.g., LCA software).
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering R&D projects on time.
- Knowledge of regional consumer preferences and regulatory standards.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Certifications in sustainability frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001) are advantageous.
Experience
- 3–5 years in product development, preferably within FMCG or consumer goods sectors.
- Proven experience in launching sustainable products to market.
Salary
350,000 – 450,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
