Job Overview

The Senior Marine Surveyor will lead comprehensive vessel inspections, ensure compliance with international maritime conventions, and provide expert technical advice to clients and internal stakeholders. This role is essential for maintaining the safety and integrity of ships operating in and through Mauritian waters, supporting both commercial and regulatory objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑delivery, periodic, and special surveys of various vessel types, including container ships, bulk carriers, and tankers.
• Assess hull integrity, machinery, safety equipment, and environmental compliance in accordance with SOLAS, MARPOL, and other relevant conventions.
• Prepare detailed survey reports, certificates, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Coordinate with classification societies, flag states, and port authorities to facilitate inspections and approvals.
• Lead a team of junior surveyors and provide mentorship, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
• Develop and implement best‑practice procedures to enhance survey efficiency and accuracy.
• Participate in incident investigations and provide expert testimony when required.
• Stay updated on evolving maritime regulations, industry standards, and emerging technologies.

Required Skills

• In‑depth knowledge of international maritime regulations, classification rules, and survey techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

Education

Candidates must possess a minimum of eight years of hands‑on experience conducting marine surveys, with a proven track record of handling complex inspections and delivering high‑quality reports. Salary
