Job Overview
The Head of Sustainable Finance will lead the development and execution of the bank’s ESG strategy, overseeing green loan origination, impact investing, and sustainability reporting. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, you will collaborate with product teams, risk managers, and external stakeholders to embed sustainability into the bank’s core financial services. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the bank’s sustainable finance framework, aligning with international ESG standards.
- Lead the origination, structuring, and monitoring of green loans, sustainability‑linked bonds, and impact investment products.
- Develop ESG risk assessment tools and integrate them into the credit approval process.
- Prepare and present sustainability reports to senior management, regulators, and investors.
- Engage with government agencies, NGOs, and industry bodies to promote green financing initiatives in Mauritius.
- Mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team of analysts, relationship managers, and compliance officers.
Required Skills
- Deep knowledge of ESG criteria, green finance instruments, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling.

Education

Experience
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sustainable finance, ESG risk management, or related fields within the banking sector. Proven track record of launching green financial products and leading cross‑functional initiatives.
Salary
The annual compensation package ranges from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and long‑term incentive plans.
