Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Nestlé Mauritius’ manufacturing processes meet stringent international quality standards and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, the engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Production, R&D, and Supply Chain, to develop, implement, and monitor quality control systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and maintain quality assurance protocols for all manufacturing lines.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, and local food safety regulations.
  • Analyze product and process data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D to support new product introductions and ensure seamless transfer from pilot to full scale production.
  • Lead internal and external non‑conformance investigations, preparing detailed reports and corrective action plans.
  • Provide training and mentorship to production staff on quality standards and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure traceability of all batches.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, SPSS) and data‑driven decision making.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and root‑cause analysis techniques.
  • Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or HACCP Practitioner are advantageous.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food and beverage sector. Experience with regulatory audits and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is highly valued.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,200,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based bonuses and benefits are part of the compensation package.
